• Attend NAACP Virtual Free Celebration! October 7, 2020 - Join the NAACP Champaign County branch for an evening of inspiration and entertainment as they celebrate 105 years of service. The Freedom Fund program is this Friday, October 9 at 6 pm. The event features keynote speaker, Michael Strautman, from the Obama Foundation and performances from ACT-SO, the high school science, humanities and arts program. It is a virtual and free event. There is no registration and the Zoom link for accessing the meeting will not be published until 1-2 days ahead of Friday’s event (to maintain security).   • Thank You From UP Center For Hosting Pridefest 2020 October 7, 2020 - Dearest community at UUCUC, From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing your space to make Uniting Pride’s Virtual Pride Fest possible this year. After 10 years of parades, the largest Pride Festival in downstate Illinois wasn’t going to allow our annual celebration to be missed. At our “Staying Apart, Rising United” festival on the weekend of September 26th , we served over 200 participants at a weekend full of educational and social programming. And we could not have done it without the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana Champaign.
  • YRUU Hosts Annual Door-To-Door Winter Coat Drive October 11 and 18 October 7, 2020 - It's that time of year again! YRUU plans to walk door-to-door (masked/distanced) in the West side neighborhood of Urbana to solicit donations for our low-income neighbors in preparation for winter. October 11th we'll be dropping empty bags and the donation list, then the following week we will cover our tracks and find the doorsteps of our neighbors who donated!

  • Caregiver’s Chalice Circle September 23, 2020 - Caregiver’s Chalice Circle meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 to 8:15 pm. We have a core group of 6 to 8 people. We share a covenant together to regularly attend the monthly meetings and be supportive of one another’s efforts.
  • COLLAGE! September 23, 2020 - This past summer, sixteen families explored the Seven Principles through a program called COLLAGE! COLLAGE is an at home program where participants received kits full of stories, crafts, worship ideas, adventures, science experiments and so much more. As the family engages in the activities, they learn more about the Unitarian Universalist 7 Principles.
  • The Unitarian Universalist Storytelling Channel September 16, 2020 - The Storytelling Channel is an unlisted YouTube Channel which provides children, youth, adults, and families the opportunity to hear stories, music and poetry.
  • Celebrate Bisexuality Day September 16, 2020 - Celebrate Bisexuality Day is observed on September 23. This is a day to honor our friends and family members in the bisexual community and their supporters. This day is also an opportunity to recognize and celebrate bisexual history, bisexual community and culture, and all the bisexual people in our church and community.
