Religious Exploration & Engagement (REE) ministry at UUCUC provides people of all ages and stages an opportunity to learn and grow together. While some programs are age-specific, others bring together different generations to explore who they are and what they believe. We invite children, youth, young adults, and adults to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing and supportive environment.

In addition to a wealth of educational classes and programs, we recognize that learning occurs through every interaction of our congregation in and outside the walls of the church building. We strive to incorporate social justice, spiritual practices, fellowship, and fun into everything we do.

Learning helps us expand our understanding of self, community, and world while creating lasting relationships. At our core, we believe that learning invites personal transformation which can lead to a stronger local, national, and global community.

REE programming offers people of all ages opportunities for:

  • Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
  • Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level and finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
  • Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.

Many committed volunteers, including parents and other members of the congregation, work behind the scenes or help lead classes and programs. Our religious education professional and ministers assist as well. Teaching can be a very fulfilling way to deepen one’s own faith. Let us know if you would like to volunteer in some way.

Children’s REE classes are typically offered on Sunday mornings. Youth (middle school and high school) and adult programs are usually offered on afternoons or evenings.

We invite you to explore these pages and contact our religious education professional to get connected. We hope you will join us, and we look forward to learning more about you as we learn and grow as a Unitarian Universalist community.
