UUCUC Members Support True Climate Bill in Illinois

Members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign gathered on Sunday, August 22 to urge Senator Scott Bennett to help pass a true climate bill in Illinois. We need him to support a bill that ends our reliance on fossil fuels; provides a just transition to a clean, renewable energy future; and closes the Prairie State coal plant in southwestern Illinois. Prairie State is the largest emitter of carbon pollution in Illinois, and the 7th largest in the country! It’s time to do what’s right for our planet.

Rally for Climate and Climate Justice!

Here are photos from yesterday’s rally to urge Senator Scott Bennett to vote for the Governor’s bill that closes the Prairie State coal plant in southwestern Illinois, the 7th largest emitter of carbon pollution in the country. Thanks to Rev. Florence Caplow and all from UUCUC who participated (and left “pink slips” for the senator)!

REE Updates!

Thank you to all who have filled out the Building Reopening Survey for Parents/Caregivers and the child and youth registration forms. The REE department is hard at work reviewing responses and planning the Fall 2021 offerings. As always, our primary concern is safety, including physical, emotional, and mental safety during these times.
