The long wait is finally over: this coming Friday and Saturday, April 9th and 10th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM is the 2021 UUCUC Service AUUction, UUp for the Challenge!
In the weeks leading up to now we’ve been asking if you were UUp for the Challenge , and you have absolutely shown that you are! We have received a wonderful influx of creative and exciting items that will be for sale. Some of the new donations we’ve received:
- “Brunch for Broads”
- Four nights in Rev. Caplow’s cabin on the Washington coast
- Homemade Chocolate Truffles
- Sermons from both Rev. Caplow and Rev. Fritsche
- A custom piano arrangement from our own Juan Camacho
- Use of a trailer, driver and vehicle included
You can view the full catalog of what will be on offer and register ahead of time at our auction host web site. We have also created an instructional video to help you get registered for the auction and to place your bids once the auction kicks off.
And of course, we’ll still happily accept any items you may want to donate at the last minute! If you have any questions, please email us at auction@uuucuc.org. There is also a host of informational links on the UUCUC auction web site.
This is going to be so much fun!
Important Information about Bidding
For those who have participated in our previous auctions, there are a couple of very important changes to the way this auction will work. In order to avoid some of the problems with “blind bidding” that we experienced last year, this year all the dinners and parties are being offered as fixed price items. This means that they can sell out before the bidding closes, so you’ll want to be sure to buy them early if you want them. Also, the auction application we are using does not consider that a fixed price item is yours until you actually pay for it. If you add a fixed price item to your shopping cart, you should go through the checkout process immediately to ensure that the item remains yours. Whoever pays first gets it!
