Committee and Group Directory
As Unitarian Universalists, we honor and celebrate diversity. Bring your unique self, your theology, your passion and desire. Discover opportunities here to grow your spirit, to socialize, to pursue and to share your interests, to show and to experience compassion, to serve the community.
The UUCUC Board of Trustees works with the recognized groups at UUCUC that are led by lay leaders to serve the congregation and the wider community. It is the board’s responsibility to support and help clarify the duties of the recognized groups, so all aspects of church programming are adequately implemented, and that work of individuals and groups can be coordinated effectively.
If you have specific questions about joining a committee or group, please feel free to contact our Associate Minister for Congregational Life, Rev. Sally Fritsche.
Many of our committees and groups align with our mission: Build community. Seek inspiration. Promote justice. Find peace. To find out more about them, please expand the menus below:
Build Community
To provide a caring community, to encourage and support one another in our religious, spiritual, and personal development.
Affinity Groups
Care Core
Care Core works with the minister to support and assist in meeting pastoral care concerns and coordinates our “Caring Congregation” network of volunteers to help in that endeavor. We meet monthly with the minister to monitor pastoral care needs, and to assess how we can further support those in the congregation in need. We regularly keep in touch with more than twenty individuals, often people who haven’t been able to attend church regularly. This includes a combination of phone calls, cards or home visits. For more information, see here.
Hospitality Teams
Hospitality Teams are in charge of Sunday morning hospitality (e.g. bell ringing, welcoming, ushering, providing decorations and refreshments) for two months during the year. Hospitality Teams are a great way to meet people and serve our congregation in a fun and important way. All members and friends are encouraged to join a Hospitality Team. For more information, see here.
Membership Committee
This vital committee helps assure our church community welcomes our visitors and new members and provides ways for newcomers and ongoing members to deepen connections and develop a sense of community within the congregation! For more information, see here.
Repair Core
An extension of the Care Core Committee, Repair Core assists members of the congregation with household, computer, and mechanical repairs or advice. For more information, see here.
UU Connections
Our most wonderful UU church is one of approximately one thousand UU churches and fellowships in the United States. Together these churches and fellowships support the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA) with a headquarters staff in Boston and in various regional offices of which ours is the Midwest Region of the UUA. For more information, see here.

Worship Committee
The Worship Committee organizes and supports fine lay-led services during the regular church year, and regularly features deeply meaningful reflections and personal stories from members of the congregation and guest speakers in these services. In 2018, the Worship Committee for the first time took responsibility for summer services, as well, and based on the success this is now a permanent arrangement. For more information, see here.
In addition to those committees/groups that align with our mission, we also have numerous committees that support the operations of the church:
