As mentioned last week, the church’s annual service auction is one month away, on the evenings of April 9th and 10th. Since the world is not yet COVID-safe we will again be holding the auction online. It will still be fun and exciting and a great chance to benefit the church and get some cool items and services for yourself, too (see below for more details about the auction and how it works).
To make it a success, the most important thing is that we have a large number of services and items to sell, and this is where you come in. If there is something you can provide then please fill out the donation form.
If you have ideas that you’re not sure about, please send us an email at auction@uucuc.org and we’ll be glad to work with you. Also, you can visit the main auction web page at uucuc.org/auction for ideas and more information.
For those new to our community, the service auction is the church’s biggest annual fundraising event and has been happening every year for almost four decades. Members and friends donate services and items for the purpose of having them auctioned to the highest bidder, all the proceeds going to the church.
We normally gather in the Fellowship Hall for dinner and dessert, with the auction (helmed by our legendary auctioneer Don Denny) coming afterward. It is one of the highlights of the church year, a wonderful party that does great benefit for the church financially, but also socially. The auction itself happens on one night, but the dinners and parties and food deliveries happen all year long. Please consider being a part of this year’s event!
