Words from the heart of Rev KB

Reverend Florence’s sad news that was shared to our congregation a week ago was painful and reminds us so keenly of the uncertainties in each of our lives.

And yet, as in our mutual love for and deep appreciation of Reverend Florence, so too are we reminded that we are profoundly interconnected in so very many ways.

We are on this journey together- as a community. As The Beloved Community.

And none of us. Not one. Is truly alone. Situations and lives change. Sometimes radically.

But the love never ever ends.

Please find here the words of our pastoral prayer (chosen by Reverend Florence) and our closing song (chosen by Rev KB) on Sunday.

May they serve as inspiration to help carry us forward into tomorrow and tomorrow. Together.

May you grow still enough to hear
The small noises earth makes in
Preparing for the long sleep of
winter, so that you yourself may
Grow calm and grounded deep within.

May you grow still enough to hear
The trickling of water seeping into
The ground, so that your soul may
Be softened and healed, and guided
In its flow.

May you grow still enough to hear
The splintering of starlight in the
Winter sky and the roar at earth’s
First core.

May you grow still enough to hear
The stir of a single snowflake in the
air, so that your inner silence may
Turn into hushed expectation.

May It Be by Enya
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornië utúlië (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornië alantië (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadow’s call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornië utúlië (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way

Mornië alantië (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now
