Learning is a lifelong endeavor and a valued part of our Unitarian Universalist community. A council is a larger structure which oversees a multi-faceted program. Since religious education is a large program, then participants in the council will collaboratively work to organize, dream and make it happen!
In the next year, there will be more opportunities for children, youth, adult and multi-generational learning opportunities thanks to the work of the new Religious Education Council. This new council will:
- Coordinate and resource existing programs in partnership with staff.
- Dream of the future and plan for new programs for this year and years to come.
- Develop leadership
- Look at policy and procedures for education at UUCUC
- Work with other UUCUC and community committees and groups to heighten learning experiences.
The RE model is set to include all who are interested. If you would like to learn more about this new council, here are 3 things you can do:
- Watch this PREZI presentation which animates the new structure: https://prezi.com/view/Tsondekk8lSfCNMNyvfX
- Reach out to the RE Council chair, Barbara Hudgings, (hudginba@gmail.com) or Interim Director of Religious education, Michele Grove (re-director@uucuc.org). We are happy to answer questions!
- Plan to attend our next RE Council meeting on Saturday, November 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
