UUCUC’s New Social Distancing Individual Comfort Zone System of Communication

As we are inviting the congregation to return to in-person services, we want to be sensitive to everyone’s comfort level when it comes to social distancing. In the weeks to come we will be inviting each person who attends Sunday services to select their comfort level color lanyard to wear throughout the morning.

The lanyard colors of red, yellow and green are to serve like a traffic light… visually signaling to those around you what your social distancing personal preference and needs are at this time.

  • Red- “ I am keeping my distance right now” : please stay 6’ back and no physical contact of any kind at this time.
  • Yellow- “ No hugs now but I am happy to chat” : fist and elbow bumps are welcome but some reserve and space appreciated
  • Green- “Open to hugs, hand shakes and high fives”: I am feeling comfortable with close discussions and contact

Please return your lanyards to the appropriate basket before leaving for home.

Thank you in advance for your participation as together we kick off our new adventure in hybrid worship with good care and sensitivity to the needs and comfort of everyone. We hope to see you in church soon.

Meanwhile our online services will continue vibrant and strong… reaching out and into your home.

Your feedback is welcome as we navigate our journey ahead… together! To share your feedback, please feel free to reach out to Rev KB at consulting-minister@uucuc.org.
