Throughout October 2020 the UU Walkers are working to fight hunger and poverty and relieve suffering. Our team is: Karen Folk, Jennifer Greene, Michele Grove, Jody Hanger, Sandy Hannum, AJ Herzog, Michaela Kruse, Pat McClard, Jean Peters, and Karen Retzer. Four of us walked on Sunday October 11, as shown above.
CROP Walk will benefit the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Eastern Illinois Food Bank, Sola Gratia Farm, and Wesley Evening Food Pantry, all of which help people deal with the day-to-day grinding poverty that exists right here in our community. In addition, funds from CROP Walk will help relief efforts in the western states devastated by horrific wildfires, in the southern states and nearby islands ravaged by deadly hurricanes, and in refugee camps around the world.
