Religion should be a prominent and positive part of public and political life. Separation of church and state is important, but the steps taken to avoid imposing Christianity on people of differing faiths and viewpoints have taken us too far in the other direction. As UUs we believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every human. We will explore how this value can and should be at the center of our civic and political lives, and how a government based on such a principle might operate.
