On Friday, October 18 at 6:30 in Fellowship Hall, Sage Café will host a discussion on free will.
Questions we’ll consider include:
• Would systems of morality collapse without a common belief that each person is responsible for his actions—and thus deserves reward or punishment for them?
• Would there be value in maintaining belief in free will, even if free will were in fact an illusion?
• Can morality exist in the absence of free-will belief, or would belief in free will promote harmful outcomes such as intolerance and revenge-seeking?
Please join us for a conversation that has engaged Unitarians and Universalists for generations.
