The Racial Justice Team (RJT) is showing a PBS documentary movie, the first event in a series to learn more about reparations for the harm to African Americans caused by systematic racism and discrimination. This series is part of our church’s effort to educate ourselves to address racism and the effects of racism in our community.

The movie “The Cost of Inheritance: An American Reframed Special,” explores the current reparations
movement for African Americans. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start around 6:30 p.m.

Following the film, Dr. Sundiata Cha-Jua (University of Illinois Professor in African-American Studies and History) will be joined by members of the Racial Justice Team, Priscilla Kron and Jim Hannum, to provide commentary and discussion.

Bring your family and your friends to learn, ask questions, and discuss how various reparations programs
seek to counter centuries of unequal justice. For more information about this film, go to
