Remembering the Pulse Massacre

Pulse was a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that was popular with the gay community and other young people. The club was named in remembrance of the brother (John) of one of the owners, who died from AIDS (“John’s pulse to live on”).

On June 12, 2016, the patrons were attacked by a gunman who killed 49 and wounded 58 others. We pause on the anniversary of this atrocity to remember those people who died or have been injured because of their sexual orientation, wherever and whenever these hate crimes occurred.
