We often receive messages of gratitude from those organizations or individuals that are the recipients of our donations and shared offerings. This week we received two thoughtful messages from UC Books to Prisoners and The Immigration Project.
- UC Books to Prisoners: A community-powered volunteer organization based in Urbana, UC Books to Prisoners distributes donated books to prisoners on a statewide and local level. Inmates from across Illinois send requests to the UC Books to Prisoners’ office at the Independent Media Center in Urbana. Volunteers read the inmate letters and select books from their collection of donated materials. Volunteers then consolidate the shipments and send the books to twenty-eight prisons across Illinois. We recently provided a $340.00 donation. To view their thank you message, CLICK HERE.
- The Immigration Project: The mission of The Immigration Project is to improve access to affordable, high quality immigrant legal services in downstate Illinois. The Immigration Project strives to protect families of immigrants by providing legal assistance. We recently provided a $250.00 donation and sponsorship of The Immigration Project’s Champaign Fundraising Luncheon in 2019. To view their thank you message, CLICK HERE.
