LGBTQIA+ Welcome Team News

Fifteen LGBTQ+ folx and two allies enjoyed pizza and socializing after church on Sunday, April 16 th as a first step to reinvigorate our LGBTQ+ Welcome Team. The group’s goals include socializing as a first priority, while also planning service and educational activities to assure we meet the UUA Welcoming Congregation Renewal program requirements. Activities will include worship services; recognition of queer-related day of observance or commemoration; education/seminars for our congregation; community service volunteer projects or funding. There was a lot of enthusiasm and energy for working together in these times of backlash against the queer community.

Action Item: If you are interested but couldn’t attend let Jerry Carden or Tim Temple know that you’d like to be included in a yet to be created email list. We encourage more allies as well. We will most likely break into groups working on various goals as mentioned above. This group is one of the sub-groups of the Social Action Council. As such, we invite any of you who are interested to kibbutz over pizza again, but this time with Rev. Beth Monhallen, our ministerial candidate. That event will start at
6:30, Wed. April 26 th in Fellowship Hall. But please register!

The Social Action Council will provide the pizza, but please bring a side-dish; snack or dessert to share. Use this link to register: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0b44acae22a4f49-pizza1#/
