Kathy admits she has lost track of when she became a member of the church. Her daughter, Shannon, was in elementary school, so that makes it about 20 years ago. Over the years, she has had the pleasure of serving as an RE teacher, OWL facilitator, YRUU advisor, Board member (briefly), and a member of the Trust Fund Committee.
After graduating from the University of Illinois back in 1972, Kathy chose to stay in the area since she kept getting jobs she liked and her network of friends and her love of the community continued to grow. When she received her MBA in the 1980s, she considered leaving but again the community captured her heart. As a fairly new retiree she spends her free time enjoying Krannert, travelling, visiting family and friends and heading East to DC and Boston to visit her two kids and grandsons. In her spare time, she loves running in honor of those who can’t.
