We heard it through the grapevine first, and now it’s official! We received our Welcoming Congregation renewal certificate from the UUA. This officially recognizes having met the renewal requirements for 2019.

This re-designation follows a multi-year review and commitment to our church’s support for LGBTQ+ issues, organizations and people. We have hosted LGBTQ+ oriented workshops and church services, observed special dates related to LGBTQ+ issues, and supported local organizations promoting LGBTQ+ services rights.

Our work is ongoing: Under UUA guidelines, we need to show our involvement in this type of work every year. Watch for an upcoming announcement about the next meeting of the Welcoming Congregation committee- we want you to join our work!
