Interfaith Vigil in Response to Local and National Gun Violence

On Sunday, September 15 we had a powerful gathering at the Randolph Street Community Garden, attended by over 120 people. Speakers from the Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Bahai traditions offered prayers and words of hope, Moms Demand Action provided ways to act in response to gun violence, and we solemnly read the names of over 130 people who have died in mass shootings in 2019, as well as 35 people who have died by gun violence here in our community in the last five years.

Our minister led the event, and was one of the primary organizers. Many members attended – thanks to all who came!

Many thanks to Jim Hannum for providing and setting up the sound system.
