UUCUC Immigration Justice Team is partnering with Hessel Park Church at a free “garage” sale event for Afghan families sponsored by the Refugee Center on Saturday, Sept 10th. You can help by donating new or gently used household items, and/or volunteering. Families have specific needs for a variety of household items and supplies, children’s needs (lunch boxes and water bottles) and adult and child sized bicycles. You can deliver your donations to Hessel Park Church, 700 W Kirby (enter via Dawson Dr, just west of Hessel Park) on Sat, August 27 from 10:30-1:30pm or contact Karen Folk (217-722-3403) to arrange pickup.
