Guided Labyrinth Walking

Raise funds for the church and learn more about labyrinth walking!

A few weeks ago, Rev. Beth led a worship service exploring different spiritual practices. She invited us to do a finger labyrinth or walk a larger canvas labyrinth in the playground. Labyrinth walking is a timeless spiritual practice, an ancient tool for contemplation and self-discovery. People walk along the labyrinth path as a form of “moving meditation,” to calm the mind and spirit.

Director of Faith Development Kelly Skinner offered a Labyrinth Walking experience for the 2024 Service AUUction. Due to the interest from the worship service, she is opening up additional space for the experience on Saturday, October 5.

Explore the beautiful labyrinth at Crystal Lake Park and learn more about the benefits of this practice, including how you can use labyrinth walks as a tool for mindfulness, relaxation and spiritual connection. You will be given a brief history and background of the labyrinth and suggestions on how to walk it, then experience it for yourself. We will end with some reflection time and sharing experiences.

There are two time slots available: 9:00 a.m. -10:30 am or 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for $25 per person (12+).

If you are interested in participating, email Kelly Skinner at religious-exploration@uucuc.org and indicate which time slot you will attend.
