The December “Getting to Know UUs” question is:
“What is the best gift you ever received and from whom?”
Just CLICK on the question for easy submission by Monday, January 1, 2024 (!!) at 12 noon.
Please do it now while you are thinking about it as we bet you already know your answer!!
Thanks to all who are responding to these enUUs conversation starters by sharing bits of yourselves and
allowing us to get to know you. Amplifying the Soul Matters theme of “Generosity,” the weekly “Getting
to Know UUs” column in November asked the congregation this question, “Apart from your parents,
whose generosity has made the biggest difference in your life?” Such heartfelt answers of appreciation
were received from:
Claire Barker: My grandmother’s cousin, a retired head mistress, who invited me to
stay for a month in Devon England when I was 13 years old. Saw
Stonehenge when could still actually walk through it. She started my
love of travel!
Kathy Frizzell: My childhood best friends’ parents who helped raise me and give me all
sorts of experiences and exposures I never would have had otherwise.
Bonnie Jurkowski: My daughter!
Jocelyn Karsk: My graduate school advisor, Dr. Tim Carter, who always went above and
beyond to give his students memorable, hands-on wildlife experiences.
Peggy Patten: My in-laws, who not only loved and cared for me and our kids
unconditionally, but also modeled generosity toward all.
Don’t forget to respond to the December question above!
