Join the UUPMI Education team two Sunday afternoons a month for community-building, facilitated reflection on Mariame Kaba’s whip smart book, We Do This ‘Till We Free Us: Abolitionist Organizing and Transforming Justice, and real-time actions we can take that bring us closer to a world of reimagined safety and a world without cages and police. Each gathering, we will work our way through the book, two chapters at a time. We will center inside voices with participating prison pen pals and those previously incarcerated.
Participants are not required to have attended previous classes.
We will send out reminders for our sessions.
Due to the extended nature of this praxis, we understand that committing to all sessions may not be accessible and that we will welcome new faces and voices at each session. At the same time, we hope to build relationships together that we can carry with us in our community spaces.
