Come and learn the basics of “Canvassing” and why it’s an important step you can choose to take to make a difference in this year’s election! It will give you information and practice to help you feel comfortable volunteering to canvass. We will also learn other ways to take action if canvassing isn’t right for you — or if you want even more practical ideas to turn your worries into actions.

Here are a few basics about Canvassing and why it’s important:
What does canvassing mean?
Canvassing means going to a predetermined list of voters’ (or potential voters) doors to talk about a specific candidate or issue and to ask them to vote. This training will help you feel comfortable about what to say when you are at a voter’s door.
Why is it important to do?
Face-to-face conversations are how we engage people in the most effective way.
Where will we be canvassing?
We’ll be canvassing in Champaign County leading up to the Illinois primary on March 17, and throughout the summer and fall for the general election, possibly with some out-of-state trips to help sister-state congregations.
