Dr. Maull, while incarcerated at a Federal prison hospital serving as a hospice caregiver and trainer, founded the National Prison Hospice Association. As a practicing Buddhist, known as the “Prison Monk”, he founded the Prison Dharma Network. Released in 1999, Dr. Maull continues to serve, e.g., through the Engaged Mindfulness Institute. His books include Dharma in Hell and Radical Responsibility.
