On Sunday, May 5th, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign recognized thirteen youth in the annual Coming of Age worship service. This group designed the worship service around their statements of belief (Credos) and heart-felt music. There is no doubt that this group brings many gifts to this congregation and community.
- Thank you to this group of youth as they studied, reflected and discerned what it means to “come of age.”
- Thank you to the parents who supported them through this journey.
- Thank you to Matthew Gladden and Florence Caplow for working with them in the art of creating meaningful worship and music.
- Thank you to the thirteen mentors who walked with them during the second half of their year together including a weekend retreat in April.
- And special thank you to the four advisers who walked with them and guided all aspects of this experience: Traci Barkley, Christine Cahill, Joe Omo-Osagie, and Angela Urban
