Come Welcome Beth Monhollen!

Greetings from your Settled Search Team!  As we announced in the service last Sunday, our candidate for Settled Minister, Beth Monhollen, will be spending the week of April 23rd through April 30th with us.  This is called “Candidating Week” and is our opportunity to introduce ourselves to Beth, and to have her introduce herself to us.  Candidating Week will kick off with Beth delivering the service on the 23rd, “Going Fast or Going Far: The Power of Community”.  Then begins a whirlwind week where Beth will be meeting with the congregation, in groups large and small, virtual and in-person.  The full schedule is posted on the church web site. The week will reach its climax on Sunday, April 30th, when Beth will deliver another service, “Don’t Show Up Empty Handed”, and after the Coffee Hour we will convene in a congregational meeting to call her to be our new Settled Minister.

This week and the vote to which it leads will be the culmination of a long process for our church.  The decision to call Beth is an important one, so please try to attend at least one of the gatherings during the week.  We will have more details about the meeting as the date approaches; we are planning to conduct it in a hybrid format, but we really hope if you possibly can you will attend in person as a show of support for Beth.  As always, if you have questions or comments for the Search Team, please reach out to us at search@uucuc.org.
