Central Illinois Unitarian Universalists are collecting books in February!
We especially need the following books:
● US Black Freedom Struggle
● Non-Violent Strategy
● Faith and Politics
● The Dignity of Work
● Martin Luther King, Jr.
● Dictionaries
● GED Preparation Guides
These books will go a long way in providing education and entertainment material to incarcerated persons. Thank you for your donation in advance.
How will it work?
- Collect books on your own or with your family.
- Drop off to UUCUC in the book collection bin starting on February 20th. The bin is located on the south side of the church under the eves (go down the stairs to the outside entrance of the religious education classroom. It is the stairs by the small, outdoor ampitheatre) or email Kendra Gibson to schedule a pick up (re-assistant@uucuc.org)
- Take pictures of your family and church involved with this project. We will create a photo documentary of the event from beginning to end.
For more information contact Emily McKown at youthcoordinator@uucuc.org or Michele Grove re-director@uucuc.org.
Detailed Information:
Where do collectors bring books?
Starting February 20th, a book collection bin will be available at UUCUC.
It will be located under the long porch outside the basement religious
education classrooms. Watch for signs from the UUCUC parking lot.
You can also email Kendra Gibson at re-assistant@uucuc.org to schedule
a pickup.
