Dearest community at UUCUC,
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing your space to make Uniting Pride’s Virtual Pride Fest possible this year. After 10 years of parades, the largest Pride Festival in downstate Illinois wasn’t going to allow our annual celebration to be missed. At our “Staying
Apart, Rising United” festival on the weekend of September 26th , we served over 200 participants at a weekend full of educational and social programming. And we could not have done it without the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana Champaign.
It’s that time of year again! YRUU plans to walk door-to-door (masked/distanced) in the West side neighborhood of Urbana to solicit donations for our low-income neighbors in preparation for winter.
October 11th we’ll be dropping empty bags and the donation list, then the following week we will cover our tracks and find the doorsteps of our neighbors who donated!
In CROP Walk 2020 the UU Walkers are working to fight hunger and poverty and relieve suffering. Our team is: Karen Folk, Jennifer Greene, Michele Grove, Jody Hanger, Sandy Hannum, AJ Herzog, Michaela Kruse, Pat McClard, Jean Peters, and Karen Retzer.
2020 continues to be challenging in record-breaking ways. If your heart is heavy or worried, and you could use some support, please remember that Rev. Sally Fritsche and Rev. Florence Caplow are here for you. Both of them have “office hours” for appointments, and are also available at other times if needed. You can reach Rev. Sally at associate-minister@uucuc.org, and Rev. Florence at minister@uucuc.org.

Caregiver’s Chalice Circle meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 to 8:15 pm. We have a core group of 6 to 8 people. We share a covenant together to regularly attend the monthly meetings and be supportive of one another’s efforts.
This past summer, sixteen families explored the Seven Principles through a program called COLLAGE! COLLAGE is an at home program where participants received kits full of stories, crafts, worship ideas, adventures, science experiments and so much more. As the family engages in the activities, they learn more about the Unitarian Universalist 7 Principles.
