Thanks to Hospitality Team C members and co leaders, Wendy Graves and Pat Feely, for serving as welcomers and ushers and providing decorations and snacks during the month of September.
We’re launching a new walking group meeting on Thursday afternoons for the month of October. It’s a chance to get some fresh air & exercise & connect with fellow UUs
Thank you to the many people who filled out the minister search survey this past weekend; you pushed us from 33 to 49 percent of our goal of 200 respondents. By the time you read this there will be fewer than three days left in the survey window, so if you haven’t completed your survey then please do so as soon as you can.
Please join us for a 3-part discussion group of the book Finish Strong by Barbara Coombs Lee.
UUCUC will participate once again in the Pride Fest Parade and Fair on Saturday, October 1st. The parade is from 11 am to Noon; the Pride Fest Fair with booths will be set up in downtown Urbana for visitors.
To celebrate Norma’s life, we will have a service at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign, 309 W. Green St., Urbana, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 7 pm. Please bring a mask in case the church requires masks to be worn at that time.
Besides supporting the Settled Search team and their mission to find the best candidate, one of the best ways we can all help get a new Lead Minister is with a successful Generosity campaign.
Please join Adult Religious Exploration and Engagement, along with the Racial Justice Project, for our inaugural session, “Addressing Hunger—Locally and Globally.” Our host will be Sandy Hannum, who will share information about and personal experiences with the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and CROP Walk. There will be a short video we watch together, followed by a discussion. All are welcome!
Immigration Justice Team would like to give a big shout out to UUCUC members who donated items, volunteered at the sale, provided rides, and tuned up bicycles.
