COVID-19 Update from Rev. Caplow – UUCUC “Warm Line” Available and Assessment Survey

UUCUC “Warm Line”

We now have a “Warm Line” you can call for support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 1-800-705-8158. When you call, your call will be picked up by the person on call at that time. This is an opportunity to talk through something that is worrying you, find a moment of human connection, share a concern, find out about resources in the community, even find out what you can do if you are worried you or someone in your family might be sick with COVID-19.

The Warm Line shifts are being covered by Rev. Bill Breeden, Dr. Michele Grove, Sherry Bohlen, Kate Barton, Jim Hannum, Cloydia Larrimore, Virginia Brubaker, Carol Osgood, Jenny Hunt, Alice Engelbretsen, Cindy Loui, Marilyn Ryan, Pamela Van Wyk, Scott Godlew, and Theresa Benson. All of them have training in deep listening and presence. Several are part of our new Pastoral Care Associates program. They have chosen to do this in order to be supportive and helpful at this rough time. They have access to other community resources and referrals.

Please don’t be shy about calling! They want to support you, truly.

This will continue to be available until we are past this crisis. We hope to eventually open this up to our full mailing list. Great appreciation for Sherry Bohlen for setting up the process for us.

The number to call again (please post on your fridge or somewhere handy): 1-800-705-8158

COVID-19 Congregational Survey

We have created a survey to check on the welfare and safety of all those in our UUCUC community, and to see if anyone within our community needs help in learning online communication systems, such as email and Zoom. In addition, we’re gathering information from those who are willing to volunteer to assist others during this pandemic. We care about you all and we will get through this by helping one another. Complete the survey now.

With love and blessings,
Rev. Florence Caplow
