This past Sunday’s worship service on November 7, 2021 was extraordinarily beautiful as around 90 of members of UUCUC gathered together in the Pavillion surrounded by Crystal Lake Park in it’s full fall glory under blue skies and one of the last warm-ish Sundays of 2021.
The air was filled with the musical magic of UUCUC’s choir, the UUC band, congregational singing, Chopin on the piano and waves of tinkling bells as the names of those in our church who died in 2020 and 2021 were read along with the words “we will remember you”.
Inspirational words by our ministers Rev Sally and Rev KB lifted us along with a truly tender puppet rendition of the book “The Memory Tree” offered by our REE staff, Rose and Adrienne. All in all it was a deeply meaningful family time and so good to have a chance to be together in person.
The full service is available online and you can access it here. Highlights of the service include a performance by the UU Band (including Sam Beshers, Chris Hannauer, Jim Hannum, Amy Hassinger, Deanna Hence, Todd Kinney, Joseph Omo-Osagie, and Steve Troyer) and the UUCUC Adult Choir.
