The Unitarian Universalist Association is engaged in a common read of An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz (Beacon Press, 2015) and An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States for Young People adapted by Jean Mendoza and Debbie Reese (Beacon Press, 2019). Our congregation will join congregations from around the United States in reading and discussing this enlightening work. Since our church sits on land stolen from many different tribes, it is worthwhile to study and discuss.
This study begins on Monday, January 13th. The facilitators ask that you read the introduction and first five chapters for the first session. Call or email Michele at the church office if you wish to borrow a copy of the book (217-384-8862/re-director@uucuc.org).
