Chester “Chet” Canfield Strohecker passed away early Sunday morning with his family at their home in Arthur, after a long illness. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 69 years, Virginia (“Gin”), his four daughters, grandchildren, and his many friends here at UUCUC.

Chet and Gin joined the church 25 years ago. Together they made beautiful baby blankets for new babies born at the church, sought-after potholders for the church auction, and fantastic cookies. In the last few years they were not able to attend regularly, however, many made the journey down to Arthur to see them, including some of our bridge players. Chet played a sharp game of bridge only two weeks ago.

His strong, generous, and resilient spirit will be remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 12th, in the Sanctuary of UUCUC. A reception in the church’s Fellowship Hall will follow the service.
