Special Collection this Sunday

Give Here

Dear UUCUC,

I’m sure that like me you have been witnessing the devastation from Hurricane Helene and seeking some action to take in response. There are many organizations on the ground (including FEMA) providing direct aid to those in need and several UU churches who have been affected are also involved in mutual aid efforts.  Locally, we are participating in Crop Walk on Sunday October 6 and that organization provides disaster relief as part of their efforts. Donations to them can be made here  https://events.crophungerwalk.org/cropwalks/event/champaignil And you can give directly to several mutual aid funds on the ground. Appalachian Voices has curated verified resources and links: https://appvoices.org/helene-relief/

As UUA President Rev. Dr. Sofia Betancourt, said recently in response to the hurricane, “Caring for one another is the way that we live out our faith and meet the moment with love and a commitment to the thriving of all.”

This Sunday, we will take a special collection for the UUA Disaster Relief Fund and you can give directly at the link above. If you would like to bring a check this Sunday please make it out to UUA Disaster Relief Fund and place it in the collection plate. We will mail all the checks for you. Unfortunately we cannot take cash donations or donations via Vanco.

In compassion and care,

Rev. Beth
