During the September business meeting, the Board of Trustees adopted a single overarching goal to provide focus for the BoT in the year ahead and it is listed below.
- Provide leadership, information, and resources to support the UUCUC community to redefine and re-energize all parts of church life as we reach for the new “normal.”
As a reminder, last fall the BoT adopted three congregational wide goals recommended by the Strategic Plan Monitoring Taskforce. Under Karen Folk’s leadership, the taskforce reviews progress on the congregation approved five-year strategic plan and offers guidance on our next steps to ensure we continue reaching for our visions. These goals are:
- Live and express our values of accessibility and inclusion to ensure that our physical space and staffing reflect and align with our visions. (Strategic Plan Goal 3 and Goal 5)
- Re-imagine and re-envision how UUCUC creates community through worship, spiritual development and learning, and Religious Exploration and Engagement programming for all ages post pandemic. (Strategic Plan Goal 1 and Goal 4)
- Continue support to expand and deepen our theological diversity in worship and music and our commitment to inclusion, anti-racism, and multiculturalism. (Strategic Plan Goal 2 and Goal 3)
Congregational wide goals help guide budget preparation and generosity planning as well as delineate our priorities for the church year.
Plans are underway to provide the BoT with recommendations to adopt new congregational wide goals for the 23 – 24 church year. It is anticipated these will be presented to the board during its next business meeting scheduled October 25. Please look for more information in the upcoming year as it is made available.
