“I Am Not Your Negro” is a movie you should see and digest!
We will gather via Zoom and meet our moderator/commentator, Dr Augustus Wood. Join us at this Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6604422541
Dr. Wood is a post-doctoral Research Associate in the Labor Education Program at the University of Illinois. He studies political economy and gentrification, labor, and working-class social movements in African American urban history.
Then we will each watch Raoul Peck’s documentary, “I Am Not Your Negro.” This film is available free on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PaAbmRJ9bQ. Following the film, Dr. Wood will provide some commentary and context for the film and we will then have an extended Q & A discussion.
This movie night is co-sponsored by the Racial Justice Project and the Religious Exploration & Engagement program.
