Our UU forebear Henry David Thoreau observed that “The mass of [people] lead lives of quiet desperation.” If we weren’t familiar with this sentiment before COVID, we certainly are now. What are we doing, perhaps without realizing it, to cope? Can we understand the sources of our own feelings, and use that knowledge to help others find a path from despair to hope?
