Ray Spooner’s End of Life Story…

From Jim Hannum

We invite you to attend a moving story and discussion titled “Hope and Dignity:  Ray Spooner’s End-Of-Life Story.”  Ray, who died from ALS in 2016, exemplified how to live while dying.  When first diagnosed with ALS, he was determined to fulfill his dream of riding his bike 3,000 miles from San Diego, CA to St Augustine, FL.

His widow, Rae Spooner, will present a short movie about Ray’s life and death and attendees will be offered an opportunity to interact with Rae about her and her husband’s experiences. Rae Spooner is a retired special education teacher in the Champaign School District and has been a birth doula for over 20 years. She currently lives in Urbana, Illinois.

This free online webinar is sponsored by Compassion & Choices, Illinois, and is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13 from noon to 1:15pm. To register for this free seminar, please click here.
