June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Pride Month. This is a time to remember the long struggle of LGBTQ+ people for basic rights, and to recognize the many contributions they have made to our society. This year is the 51st anniversary of LGBTQ+ Pride traditions. The first Pride March was held in NYC on June 28, 1970, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.
