Steve Herzog grew up in Boulder, Colorado where his family was part of an exceptionally liberal Catholic parish. After getting married, he and his wife, AJ, spent two years living and teaching English in eastern Hungary. They moved to Champaign-Urbana in 1994 for graduate school, anticipating a stay of no more than 5-6 years. You see how that went. After obtaining a PhD in History, he now works in the Computer Science Department.

Steve and AJ started coming to UUCUC regularly some time around the turn of the century, and are grateful to have raised their three children (Jonah, Ren, and Daniel) in this open, supportive religious community.

Steve has taught RE at all levels, has served on the Nominating and Shared Ministry committees, and has participated in all manner of church activities over the years, particularly enjoying our Coffee House nights.
