From Brian McDermott, Board Chair
Greetings, Friends and Members of UUCUC!
Each year, the Board gives the congregation a chance to review the proposed budget, hearing what we will be able to accomplish and how we are doing financially. This is also the time to ask the financial questions about the church that you may have.
I will give you a little hint ahead of the meetings – the Generosity campaign was a fantastic success. (A big thank you to Mona Shannon and her team of volunteers that helped make that so successful.)
We will also have a chance to discuss some of the ideas that the Board is planning for the coming year. One is an experimental year with a smaller Board size, to assess how we do with a different structure and make-up. To do that, there will be a proposed bylaws revision regarding the size of the Board at the annual meeting. We will also brief you on plans regarding the mediation committee, and how we will be looking at that part of our ministry in the coming year.
Be sure to come to one of the informational meetings to hear all about the above, ask your questions, and be a most-informed voter at the Annual Meeting! (Because we all want more informed electorates.)
You are welcome to attend the meeting on May 23rd at 3 pm. If there is significant interest, we may schedule further meetings and will let you know. Zoom information can be found on the event pages.
Any questions, please feel free to contact me, Brian McDermott, Board Chair (chair@uucuc.org) about the church.
