We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to assure that no one is excluded for full participation in the life of our church.

Parking

Accessible parking is available in our churches parking lot which is located on the south side of the church. We have limited parking and encourage those with adequate mobility to use alternative lots or street parking if possible. We are located on the MTD bus route. If you need assistance or have questions, please contact our office.

Hospitable Parking on Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings please reserve spaces in UUCUC’s parking lot for guests and newcomers and for persons with limited mobility. Additional street parking is available on Cedar and High Streets as well as in the parking lot behind Timothy Johns Salon at the northwest corner of Green and Birch Streets and the black-topped spaces at the west end of the parking lot behind Bruno Law Offices at 301 West Green. Note that these two lots are only available to us on Sundays.

Accessible Entrance

Both our north and south entrances have steps. The south entrance has an automatic door and access to an elevette (our elevette is not a full-size elevator, the entrance clearance is 29.5 inches and the length measures 46 inches) for access to the main floor where the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall are located. The elevette also provides access to our Lower Level to our Religious Education classrooms.

Accessible Seating

Our building is wheelchair accessible, including the entrances, the Sanctuary, and the bathrooms.

Assistive Listening System

We have a Wi-Fi based Audio Everywhere Assistive Listening System which provides an improved listening opportunity for people who need assistance. Instructions for using the system are available at the church. Click below to download the free apps here for your mobile device and ask the ushers on Sunday for instructions on how to use the system (we also have several mobile devices at the church we can loan visitors during the Sunday service, if needed):

Scent-Free

Out of respect for those who struggle with asthma, allergies and chemical sensitivities we encourage our congregants and visitors to refrain from using scented products when attending our services and events.
